Final Day of Great Mediterranean Coast Hike The Best Cami de Ronda and Beach Walk | Tossa de Mar to Lloret de Mar GR 92-Day 16
For our final Day 16 on the Great Mediterranean Coast Hike GR 92 we were to do 17 kms from Tossa de Mar to Lloret de Mar. And looking at the elevation map we saw that the trail went up and down quite a bit winding along the seacoast but sometimes going away from it. There will be some cliffs and hard to get through areas but not as mountainous as the previous day. And we still hoped to get more sea views than the day before. We felt a bit sore in the body after yesterday’s mountainous part as our body seemed to forget mountainous terrain after so many…

NO WATER sources and NO PLACE to CAMP on GR92!? | Sant Feliu de Guixols to Tossa de Mar Day 15
The plan was to hike from Sant Feliu de Guixols to Tossa de Mar doing 17 to 20kms in total. We knew it was one of the challenging days because of quite significant elevation changes climbing at least 560m up and the same down. But also of course we knew that the trail couldn’t be that straightforward and overall it will go up and down quite a bit. So it was the day when we went away from the seaside and would hike almost all of the distance in the mountains going through the mountain range Massif de les Cadiretes. That night it was raining quite heavily and there was…

Hiking along the Hidden Paradise Beaches on GR92 in Catalonia | Sant Antoni de Calonge, Platja d’Aro & S’Agaro
That day we planned to make 17kms that didn’t look very difficult elevation wise. We would go through the towns Palamos, Calonge, Platja d Aro, and S’Agaro in Sant Feliu de Guixols. It was promising to be a very pavement heavy day with lots of towns to pass by but at the same time, we still hoped to see some natural paths here and there. We had a nice and recovering sleep in the campground Internacional de Palamos. It turned out to be nice and spacious place with the sea views from above where we were able to spent a calm night surrounded by camper vans. Luckily it was quiet…

Best and Most Spectacular Walk along Llafranc, Calella de Palafrugell and Palamos Beaches|GR92 Spain
That day the plan was to make 15kms hiking through Llafranc and Calella de Palafrugell and getting to Palamos to the campsite. We expected the trail to be easy to moderate looking at the map as we saw several uphills and downhills with one major 200m climb. It promised to be a very beautiful day and we hoped to discover amazing hidden beaches in the cliffs and walk along the sea line as close as possible most of the time. We woke up after a peaceful night in the campground Tamariu as usual when the sun was setting up at 8am. We had our mashed potatoes for breakfast, wrapped up…

We faced an IMPASSABLE OBSTACLE on GR92 – Is it an Epic Fail? | Day 12 Hiking From Estartit to Tamariu
For that day, we had a plan of hiking from the town Estartit to the town Begur and then further down the coast to Tamariu where was the only open campsite closest to us on the trail. We wanted to walk along the seacoast and it was going to be around 16kms in total. On the elevation profile, we saw that the trail was quite easy with only 200m uphill and then downhill at the end. But we expected it to be quite gentle. The night we had at the camping La Sirena was a bit disturbing with many dogs barking around and some street noise. Also the area was…

Breathtaking Mediterranean Seacoast Walk from L’Escala to Estartit in Catalonia | GR 92 Day 11
We woke up at 8am in the camping L’Escala feeling quite broken apart and exhausted. The day before trail in the hot sun was paying us off. We would definitely like to stay in the campground as we quite liked it but by a coincidence, it was closing that very day. Therefore, we had to pack everything and get on the trail. For that day we planned to hike from the town L’Escala to Estartit doing 15kms. We saw on the map that there were some uphills and downhills and a major 100m climb to do on the way. We just hoped it would go in a more foresty and…

Lots of BEACH WALKING – Platja de Sant Pere Pescador & Les Dunes to L’Escala in Catalonia | GR92 – Day 10
We had a big plan for the day to do 20kms and get to the village L’Escala. It shouldn’t have taken us much effort as the route was going practically flat all the way through. But we knew that we were going to deviate from the GR trail and walk closer to the beach instead so we couldn’t be sure about how long it was going to take us. And also it was depending a lot on the weather. We got up at 8am that day after having a quiet night in the camping La Laguna. As usual we had our breakfast – a meal that was left from the…

Visiting the towns of Roses & EmpuriaBrava -the Catalan Venice |Great Mediterranean Coast Hike Day 9
We spent a quiet night in the campground Empurdanes and had a good sleep. We felt a bit lazy to start a day very early so we woke up only at 8am when it was starting to lighten up. We were hearing the song of starlings during all morning and it was very nice and pleasant. The campground itself was a bit too expensive for what it was, for the kind of facilities it provided, how small it was and how bare were the pitches with almost no grass. But maybe it was the expensive area that we yet had to find out. So we made our usual camping routine,…

We are back on GREAT MEDITERRANEAN COAST HIKE in Costa Brava, Spain! | Day 8 – Cadaqués to Roses
This is our Day 8 of Great Mediterranean Coast Hike when we 3 years later got back to the trail in Cadaqués where we left it. This hike follows mostly the GR92 trail but we were going to make it our own and planned to hike as close to the coastline as possible making any deviations needed. We were going to hike from Cadaqués to Lloret de Mar passing through Roses, L´Escala, Palamos, Castell Platja d´Aro etc, many beautiful cliffs and beaches covering around 150 kms in total. We planned to do it in 7 or 8 days making 15 to 20 kms a day. That 8th day we were…
