We are about to quit the Tour de Mont Blanc (on the most snowy uphill) | Day 4.2 of TMB Refuge La Balme – Refuge de la Croix du Bonhomme
In today’s episode we hiked from Refuge La Balme to Refuge de la Croix du Bonhomme. The path was becoming steeper and steeper from that moment on and soon we met quite a big snow areas under our feet. In some places it was quite deep and it was dangerous to step at it. Then the glorious view of the snowy mountain has opened to us and we realized that this is how this trail goes next. We hesitated for some time whether we should attempt to climb it or not and finally we decided to try it. In the end we didn’t lose anything and what was more important…

Got a sunstroke on the most breathtaking trail through Swiss Alps | Day 9 TMB from Italy to Switzerland
The day before… That night we were enclosed in the tent for 12 hours straight. The rain was persistently coming down all night long and only at 7am it seemed to stop. We were very worried because of this unstable weather and the forecast was predicting the similar rainy conditions of the day before. And our plans were quite big if we were going to continue the trail. We needed to get to the foot of the mountain that was in 6 kms then do a steep and snowy uphill and descend down to the village Fouly in Switzerland. So we made our mind to have this day off the…

Idyllic alpine trail and the most beautiful natural ravine | Day 4.1 of TMB Camping le Pontet-Refuge La Balme
That day started very late us being lazy and we found that it always happens whenever we stay in the campsites with facilities. There is nothing that disturbs us and forces to wake up early and also there are lots of things to do from washing the hair and washing and drying our clothes to using the Wi Fi that provides the camping. So we were pretty happy about the campsite and grateful for the rest it gave us and feeling refreshed we started this new day of hiking. We didn’t have too many plans for the day already having an experience with following the stages we knew that we…

Crossing waterfalls, changeable weather and cows attack | Day 8 of TMB Rifugio G. Bertone-Rifugio W. Bonatti, Italy
The day started with a little drizzling rain and very gloomy weather. During the night we felt a lot of humidity in the air and it was quite cold. The place we found was very nice and secluded and nobody disturbed us – we only heard some sounds of the mountain goats at night. All things were wet including the tent. And we hate when that happens because it means carrying extra weight. We had our leftover cereals for breakfast and began to descend down. The downhill going to the trail was very steep and it was incredible to believe that we did all this uphill yesterday in the evening…

The Tour de Mont Blanc trail is too challenging? | Day 3 of TMB from Chalets de Miage to Contamines-Montjoie
The night was very cold in the valley of Maiges, everything was wet and you could feel the humidity coming at you. We were very exhausted from yesterday’s extreme adventure and in the morning felt fallen apart. Our legs, shoulders and back felt very sore. And we didn’t want to move anywhere just stay and rest at the place. We overestimated our powers with this trail looking at the stages that people proposed and the ones we had on our map. They’re all around 15 kms and we thought that it wasn’t that much. But we forgot about the mountainous relief and that here you feel the distance differently. The…

First 1000m uphill on the way and worst thunderstorm in our lives | Day 2 of TMB from Houches to Chalets de Miages
We started the day at 6.30 am in the wild camping spot that we found yesterday at the ski trail. The surroundings were quiet and river sounds were very lullabying. We ate the food left from yesterday’s night just heating it up, wrapped everything up and were good to go. We had to descend down to the village to collect some drinking water from the source because we knew that the uphill awaits us right from the start. We saw that there was a cable car taking the people around half of the way up but we obviously didn’t need to take and skip any scenic parts. The plan for…

Can’t believe how majestic are the glaciers! | Day 1 of TMB from Chamonix-Mont-Blanc to Houches
On the first day of our Tour de Mont Blanc we waked up quite early and didn’t sleep very well. The sound of the wind in the fir trees was quite intense and we weren’t feeling well enough still after the long 2 day trip. We found that the car trips are more exhaustive than anything to us. But the place was nice, very flat and calm even though very close to the village. So we had our breakfast and started to shoot the what’s in our backpack video and an introduction video for our Tour de Mont Blanc. It took us good couple of hours, especially because we had…

Introduction to the Tour de Mont Blanc and how we got to Chamonix
We started our journey at the Costa Brava coast in Colera, Spain where we spent several days at the campsite. We decided to try for the first time the Bla bla car service where you can find the fellow travellers all around the world. It is not free but very convenient if you travel to a specific location where there is no public transport or you don’t want to do the change. And the prices are in the same range as the public transport sometimes even cheaper. So first Bla bla car we took from Colera to Perpignan in France that was around 70 kms. It was fast and punctual.…
