The Tour de Mont Blanc trail is too challenging? | Day 3 of TMB from Chalets de Miage to Contamines-Montjoie
The night was very cold in the valley of Maiges, everything was wet and you could feel the humidity coming at you. We were very exhausted from yesterday’s extreme adventure and in the morning felt fallen apart. Our legs, shoulders and back felt very sore. And we didn’t want to move anywhere just stay and rest at the place. We overestimated our powers with this trail looking at the stages that people proposed and the ones we had on our map. They’re all around 15 kms and we thought that it wasn’t that much. But we forgot about the mountainous relief and that here you feel the distance differently. The…

First 1000m uphill on the way and worst thunderstorm in our lives | Day 2 of TMB from Houches to Chalets de Miages
We started the day at 6.30 am in the wild camping spot that we found yesterday at the ski trail. The surroundings were quiet and river sounds were very lullabying. We ate the food left from yesterday’s night just heating it up, wrapped everything up and were good to go. We had to descend down to the village to collect some drinking water from the source because we knew that the uphill awaits us right from the start. We saw that there was a cable car taking the people around half of the way up but we obviously didn’t need to take and skip any scenic parts. The plan for…

Can’t believe how majestic are the glaciers! | Day 1 of TMB from Chamonix-Mont-Blanc to Houches
On the first day of our Tour de Mont Blanc we waked up quite early and didn’t sleep very well. The sound of the wind in the fir trees was quite intense and we weren’t feeling well enough still after the long 2 day trip. We found that the car trips are more exhaustive than anything to us. But the place was nice, very flat and calm even though very close to the village. So we had our breakfast and started to shoot the what’s in our backpack video and an introduction video for our Tour de Mont Blanc. It took us good couple of hours, especially because we had…

Introduction to the Tour de Mont Blanc and how we got to Chamonix
We started our journey at the Costa Brava coast in Colera, Spain where we spent several days at the campsite. We decided to try for the first time the Bla bla car service where you can find the fellow travellers all around the world. It is not free but very convenient if you travel to a specific location where there is no public transport or you don’t want to do the change. And the prices are in the same range as the public transport sometimes even cheaper. So first Bla bla car we took from Colera to Perpignan in France that was around 70 kms. It was fast and punctual.…

Final day getting to Santiago de Compostela | Camino del Norte – Day 32
On the Day 32 of our Camino de Santiago del Norte we got from the village O Grove to the city Santiago de Compostela. The night was windy and the rush of wind were very strong so we had another bad sleep night. Also we were running out of food and hoped for the supermarket to be open in the morning. So we decided to pack everything up and cook the breakfast at some beach on the way. The camping we liked quite a lot, it was spacious and big, had a lot of plots to choose from with the cold water source in each. The only downside compared to…

Exploring Island area of Sanxenxo, A Lanzada and O Grove in Galicia | Camino del Norte – Day 31
On the Day 31 of our Camino de Santiago del Norte we hiked from the town A Lanzada to O Grove in Galicia. It was a rainy morning and we had to stay in the tent all the time packing our clothes. It is always extremely hard and inconvenient. And most importantly the tent gets so soaking wet that it weighs a ton and the next evening we have a completely wet tent to sleep in. But we had to move and after hard packing we were out of the camping. We hadn’t much time to look around it but it was quite a small elongated camping close to the…

Scenic natural trail Ruta del Cantabrico in Galicia | Camino del Norte from Foz to ValdoviƱo – Day 30
On the Day 30 of our Camino de Santiago del Norte we got from the town Foz to ValdoviƱo in Galicia. It was a beautiful sunny morning when we woke up in the camping San Rafael. We came there very late yesterday night and could have a look at where we are only today. The camping was nice, quite small and great located close to the beach. There were no people but us and another couple so it was very quiet and clean. As we walked out of it we were right at the beach that was curative. Locals say that the people who have respiratory problems actually recover there.…

Discover the Underwater world – Incredible As Catedrais Beach in Ribadeo, Galicia | Camino del Norte – Day 29
On the Day 29 of our Camino de Santiago del Norte we passed through Ribadeo and Las Catedrales Beach in Galicia. In the morning we were still broken apart from the last day and it was the day when we had to make an important decision whether to continue on with the Camino or stop it at this point. We were already seeing that we are moving way more slower that we thought and so don’t have enough time to get to Santiago de Compostela by foot whatever way we choose. Also we got kind of burn out of the Camino having to always search for an alternative – that’s…

Following the GR E9 – great alternative to Camino del Norte | From Navia to Tapia de Casariego – Day 28
On the Day 28 of our Camino de Santiago del Norte we got from Navia to Tapia de Casariego in Asturias. We woke up to a quiet chilly morning in the field. At night it was windy but we were warm because we covered all the sides of the tent with a hay that we found at a place(sometimes we use tree branches, leaves and fir depending on a place). We discovered that it helps a lot to keep the warm air inside especially in an open space area like that day and when the nights are getting colder. So we started the day very early and we didn’t even…

Perfect and Easy Coastal Trail on Camino del Norte – Las Barqueras, Barayo, Puerto de Vega- Day 27
On the Day 27 of our Camino de Santiago del Norte we got from las Barqueras to the outskirts of Navia in Asturias. The morning was fresh and chilly so we got up quite late and didn’t hurry to start hiking. We felt like the autumn will gain its power very soon. Camping Playa de Otur gave us the opportunity to discover a very beautiful beach and it was already enough to say that we liked it. But the place itself wasn’t bad at all – there were lots of space, lots of big trees around, it is very green with many robins living there. Just the dogs from nearby…
