Amazing Hiking in Andorra |Border crossing from Porta, France to Pas de la Casa, Andorra
In this post we want to share with you our one day hike from Porta, France to the village Pas de la Casa in Andorra. We really been wanting to explore Andorra for a while and finally it was the time to do it. We started on the beautiful sunny August day in Porta and started to walk uphill following the river Campcardos. Right form the start the trail was going alongside the GR route for some time and the marking has been great. Throughout the day the trail had no too steep uphills but rather constant gentle uphill and just towards the end there was quite a steep rocky…

Challenging hike to the Peak Carlit in Pyrenees-Orientales, France | Bouillouses Natural Site
It was the second day of our 2 day hike to the Peak Carlit. That day we hiked 18 kms through the beautiful lakes at the Bouillouses Natural Site and ascended to the Pic Carlit (2921m). That night we slept really well, it was very quiet and calm with no people around us and the temperature was very comfortable, not too cold but very humid. So we got ready quickly, ate our breakfast and started our 18kms hike for the day. We wanted to leave our backpacks somewhere in the forest so that we can hike as lightweight as possible. We had a very good previous experience with Puigmal when…

Serene Hike to the Lake Bouillouses Natural Site in PYRENEES-Orientales, France
It was the first day of our 2 day hike to the Pic Carlit (2921m). This bright sunny day started at the camping Pla de Barres and we planned to walk around 10 kms to the lake Pradeilles. We were so excited to do this hike as it’s been a long time since we ascended the peak Puigmal last year. All the first part of the trail was a very easy and relaxing walk along the banks of the river Tet. It is one of our favourite type of routes where you really get to enjoy the shadow of the forest and the water flowing nearby. It’s been really tempting…

It was Day 1 of our Eyne Valley to Vall de Nuria hike where we cross from France to Spain through the Pyrenees mountains. Eyne valley is known for its exceptional variety of flora and fauna in every time of the year and we were very excited to discover what it keeps for us in the spring time. At the start of the day we had to hitchhike to get to the village of Eyne and we were lucky that a lovely couple picked us up and brought us right at the place. Eyne was a nice little mountain village with lots of water sources and skiing resort higher in…

Great Mediterranean Coast Hike in Costa Brava, Spain | Day 7 – Cadaques – Cap de Creus Lighthouse
It was the last and final day of our hike and the plan was to get to the Cap de Creus Lighthouse and explore the area around it. Yesterday we had a beautiful bright day getting to Cadaques town but when we got there we realized that it is different from other coastal towns that we’ve been before. Right from the start the amount of traffic and people in the town made us feel a bit strange about it. As normally all the places we passed by were little quiet villages and here it was noisy and too populated, it was just very unusual. Then after spending the night in…

Great Mediterranean Coast Hike in Costa Brava, Spain | Day 6 – Port de la Selva-Cadaques
We had a beautiful start of the day having our breakfast at the scenic beach and watching the sun coming up right next to our camping Port de la Vall. We got there yesterday quite late and it turned out that the closest supermarket is in 2.5 kms from the camping. And so after that hot exhaustive day we had to walk more in order to have a proper dinner. So unfortunately we hadn’t much time to enjoy the area in the evening and went to sleep right away. But the morning was beautiful and we tried to get on the trail as early as possible to escape the middle…

Great Mediterranean Coast Hike in Costa Brava, Spain | Day 5 – Colera, Llançà, Selva de Mar
We started our day feeling very refreshed and energized after having a nice rest at the camping Sant Miquel in Colera, Spain. We had a plan to make 15 kms to the town Selva de Mar further down the coast and hoped that the relief and the weather will work in our favor. When we were leaving Colera for the first time during this hike we felt the piece of our heart was left in this place. It seemed so cosy and home-like to us and we were definetely considering going back here to stay for several days when we finish the hike. The camping itself was very new and…

Great Mediterranean Coast Hike in Costa Brava, Spain | Day 4 – Cerbère, Portbou, Colera
The night was extremely windy with the wind fiercely blowing up our tent so it was quite disturbing to our sleep. The reason for that most probably was the location of the Camping Municipal de Cerbere where we stayed. It is situated right at the edge of the cliff where nothing can block the wind from any side. But we tried hard to sleep as much as we could cause the long day was expecting us. We planned to pass by the town of Cerbere, crossing the border to Portbou in Spain and walk all the way to the little town at the coast Colera. So we got up really…
